What is a Stephen Minister?
Getting the name from the martyr Stephen in the Bible, a Stephen Minister is a caring Christian lay minister who gives one on one care to another individual who has requested it. Stephen Ministers are well trained in how to listen and care for people going through illness, stress, grief from divorce, death, unemployment, and other problems of life that most people have to deal with at some point in their lives. Confidentiality is strongly emphasized.
